The historic ripening process of the Reypenaer cheeses is unique in the Netherlands. In the 100-year-old warehouse on the Oude Rijn river in Woerden, the Reypenaer cheeses are matured in an entirely natural way. Over time, this process leads to the distinctive and complex taste with its exceptional aroma that characterises these artisan cheeses.

In the Reypenaer Cheese Tasting Rooms in the centre of old Amsterdam, you can personally test and evaluate the flavour, the aroma and the qualities of the Reypenaer cheeses, all under the guidance of an expert cheese taster.

Each cheese tasting session lasts approximately one hour, and caters for a maximum of 20 people per tasting.

Tasting workshops take place at the following times:
Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday at 13.00, 14.30 and 16.00 CET.
Friday and Saturday at 12.00, 13.30, 15.00 and 16.30 CET.
Booking is desired.
IMPORTANT – please allow 24 hours notice for your booking to be confirmed. All bookings will be confirmed via email.

You can choose from 3 types of cheese tasting classes.  The Connoisseur Class combines wines and port with six of our finest cheeses and costs € 12.50 per person.  The Exceptional Class, matching our cheeses with Whisky or with Bols Liqueurs costs € 15 per person. We also offer a Special Class , which is a Connoisseur Class plus Reypenaer Cheese (one year matured) to take home for €20 per person.

NEW: From October 1st 2011, Reypenaer Proeflokaal is also offering a Sake and Reypenaer tasting workshop, where you can try our cheeses with a range of specially selected Sake wines. Price: €17,50 per person. More about Sake & Cheese…

We also cater for private groups, corporate events and private parties for groups of up to 20 people.
